Event Description:
This event is for Oakland County Public School and PSA employees only.

The Oakland Schools AAC team is excited to announce our 2015-16 Community of Practice, for those who have prior knowledge and practice with AAC implementation. The Community of Practice (COP) will provide continued learning and interaction for those who share a passion for students becoming competent communicators, using a core vocabulary approach. This COP will provide an opportunity to come together regularly to share successes, problem-solve challenges and build competence as well as gain continued knowledge about AAC implementation via webinars with national presenters.

It will be expected that all participants are currently implementing AAC, using strategies including: core vocabulary approach, aided language input and vocabulary instruction with classroom instruction. Group discussion and participation will be a focus during these sessions. In order to develop a shared repertoire of resources, participants will be asked to share evidence of their implementation and present artifacts to other group members, this may include: stories, pictures, videos, case studies, tools, materials, etc...Team participation is encouraged!!
