| Event Description: |
Systematic, explicit instruction is a highly effective, research-based strategy for students with IEP's. This course is centered on the book, Explicit Instruction (Archer & Hughes, 2011) and provides instructors with specific tools and techniques that can be used in the classroom. We will learn about active participation, lesson design, critical delivery skills, explicit vocabulary instruction giving feedback, and praise. Dr. Anita Archer will join us in-person at the end of the series. Oakland County Public School Educators who complete the explicit instruction series are eligible to register for the learning lab and symposium. Due to funding guidelines there are 27 seats available for Oakland County Public School & PSA educators at the cost of $60.00 per participant and 3 seats available for private schools in Oakland County, Agencies and Out-of-County educators at the cost of $350.00 per participant. |
