Event Description:

This series will provide introductory knowledge of the foundational skills for reading, including phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Participants will learn the research behind each big idea, the scope and sequence of instruction for each big idea, and walk through sample lessons and strategies for each big idea. Participants will be provided opportunities to practice strategies with feedback and opportunities for application. This course uses the Teaching Sourcebook (CORE) as well as the Assessing Reading: Multiple Measures texts. Upon completion of the series, participants are eligible to register for one of the Reading Strategies Learning Labs. Sub reimbursement eligible for 9/30/2014 and 12/2/2014.
