| Event Description: |
New special education, general education teachers supporting students with an IEP, and ancillary staff in their first three years of supporting students with Autism are invited to join this collaborative network. We will meet once a month during the school year and will address specific needs regarding successfully supporting students with ASD. Topics include: the need for visual supports, educational strategies, positive behavioral interventions, functional communication systems, peer-to-peer supports, and appropriate adult-child interactions. In addition to learning more about autism, participants will have the opportunity to network and collaborate with other educators from the county, receive coaching support from OS consultants and learn more about valuable resources. Virtual meetings to be held monthly with the possibility of the last meeting to be held face to face at Oakland Schools for a culminating celebration. Stipends are available to those attending the session(s) on their own time. SCECH and SW-CEH pending. |
