Event Description:
This conference brings together three different communities with the common goal of improving educational opportunities for al Michigan youth, regardless of their actual or perceived sexual orientation, gender identity and/or gender expression. Pre-K - 12 practitioners (from district administrators to site level staff), teacher educators form higher education and the Michigan Department of Education, and community agencies advocating for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) youth community, will be engaging in dialogue, providing resources, sharing best practices and facilitating planning sessions so each of us can take the next steps necessary for creating safer, more welcoming and inclusive schools across the state of Michigan. We urge you to come listen, learn, and add your own voice to this critical conversation.
