Event Description:

The focus of this event will be on the mental health needs of students within schools. School professionals will be encouraged to consider their unique role and strategic situation in the school setting in promoting mental health in the lives of students, both proactively and preventatively. Participants of this workshop will gain an overview of the issues involved and will understand implications for effective intervention. Universal and targeted strategies will be considered. Best practices will be promoted along with the importance of the various roles of administration, teachers, school psychologists, school social workers, counselors, and community professionals.

Note: Due to funding guidelines, 309 seats are available for Oakland County Public Schools and PSA/Charter School employees for $15. There are 8 seats available for participants from Oakland County Private Schools and Agencies, and 8 seats available for out-of-county participants at a cost of $100 per participant.
