Event Description:

The 2015-16 Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD) District Representative Series will involve deeper work on understanding the conceptual issues involving identification of SLD. District representatives, from both large and small districts with a variety of economic backgrounds and needs, make this learning opportunity deeper than traditional professional learning events. The SLD District Representatives serve as a forum to identify solutions to common problems and to evaluate best practices in the identification of students with SLD. Each session focuses on a hot topic facing the field, solving problems of practice, sharing resources and identifying district professional learning needs. Participants will read, react and integrate information from the documents, problem-solve implementation difficulties and clarify needed FAQ questions. Participants will also pilot new tools, learn about new resources and provide ongoing input for training needs. The SLD District Representative has a responsibility to bring information back to their district and create needed action plans tailored to their district's needs.
