Event Description: |
The film "Most Likely to Succeed" is coming to Oakland Schools on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 10:00 AM. The 90-minute film will be followed by a structured dialogue, and the session will end at approximately 12:30 PM. "Most Likely to Succeed" is a critically acclaimed, edu-documentary that was highlighted at Sundance this year. Here is the link to the website: http://www.mltsfilm.org/It speaks to the need of reimagining schools to be places of creation, application and innovation. Linda Darling-Hammond, Sir Ken Robinson, Sal Khan and others are interspersed with the story of High Tech High, a reimagined school where 98% of their students go on to college. It is about fully engaging and empowering students, using a growth mindset, and so many things! The website has a trailer, short clips from the film, and information about screening. It was recently shown at the Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor and at the Kiva at U of M Flint. |
