| Event Description: |
This event is for Oakland County Public School & PSA Employees only. The Communication Matrix is a free assessment tool created to help families and professionals easily understand the communication status, progress, and unique needs of anyone functioning at the early stages of communication or using forms of communication other than speaking or writing. This session will provide a detailed review of the Communication Matrix Profile including: understanding each level, pragmatic functions addressed, implications for receptive communication approaches and considerations for IEP goal consideration for each level. There will be information on a variety of communicative approaches suitable for each level on the Matrix and implications related to Literacy as well! All participants will be introduced to the online version and be invited to join the virtual Community of Practice. |
