Event Description:

Socrative is a cloud-based, student response system developed in 2010 by Boston-based graduate school students. It allows teachers to create simple assessments that students can take quickly on computers, tablets and/or smartphones. Available question types are true/false, multiple choice, graded short answer, and open-ended short responses. Activities can be teacher-paced for use during a classroom discussion or student-paced for use as a more traditional class-end, "exit ticket" or quiz. There’s also a gaming element, the "Space Race" feature, which sets up a quiz so that teams of students can compete against one another. Results can be displayed live in the classroom to facilitate discussion with student identities kept anonymous. Teachers can use the Reports to access detailed classroom and student data. If you would like to get started using Socrative, sign up for this free, self-paced, online course. You will be guided, via video and text-based tutorials, through all of the steps needed to set up and use Socrative. It is expected that it will take 6 hours to complete the course. This includes the time you will spend using Socrative with your students. Open only to Educators who teach in Oakland County.
