Event Description:

This series will provide introductory knowledge of the foundational skills for reading, including phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension. Participants will learn the research, the scope and sequence of instruction, and walk through sample lessons and strategies for each big idea. Participants will be provided opportunities to practice strategies with feedback and apply new learning in the classroom. This course uses the Teaching Sourcebook (CORE) as well as the Assessing Reading: Multiple Measures texts. Upon completion of the series, or web-based course, participants are eligible to register for one of the Reading Strategies Learning Labs. *SCECH and Graduate Credit options pending. Substitute reimbursement is available for 10/6/17.
