Oakland Schools is proud to continue growing the OS PLN4UDL virtual ecosystem with the Universal Design for Learning Foundations event. It is an intense, comprehensive immersion into the principles and philosophy of Universal Design for Learning (UDL). UDL is a powerful framework based on neuroscience and learning design that empowers learners with agency, designs for the variability found in all classrooms, and addresses the needs of accessible curriculum.
Join Oakland county educators as they lay out the foundations of UDL and how it not only supports but enhances instructional design, formative assessment, new ESSA guidelines, and technology integration.
In this event participants will:
Learn the fundamental pieces that comprise Universal Design for Learning and its implications for redesigning educational environments
Explore UDL as an instructional design framework
Explore UDL's connections to ESSA, the National Tech Plan, and specialty programs
Explore UDL as it pertains to reframing least restrictive environments
Learn UDL's framework as it addresses equity for all students and Culturally Relevant Training.
