Event Description:

Learn how collaborative conversations foster access to classroom instruction and boost critical thinking and academic language development in students with language-learning disabilities.

Session 1. Identify essential language and thinking strategies that form the basis of dynamic conversations about text. Learn the primary instructional language methods that facilitate critical thinking and academic language.

Session 2. Learn fundamentals of lesson planning and scaffolding that strengthen students’ motivation and proficiency to participate in a conversation. Explore data collection and analysis techniques.

Session 3. Review goal and report examples. Learn structures and strategies that support meaningful collaboration with allied educators and encourage widespread thinking and language improvement.
