Event Description:

Children who sustain traumatic brain injury (TBI) can experience significant cognitive, behavioral, and social-emotional deficits. These deficits may significantly impair their functioning in the classroom, resulting in the need for academic and behavioral accommodations/modifications. Students may experience difficulties in executive functioning skills such as: paying attention, staying on task, and predicting consequences of their actions. This workshop will identify areas of skill deficits in executive function, their characteristics, and offer compensatory strategies to assist staff in supporting students with traumatic brain injuries.
