Don’t miss A Day with the Arts: Music at Oakland Schools on November 6, 2018 (Election Day).
Join MS, MTBC music therapists Kellee Coviak Hansen and Laurel Rosen-Weatherford in Songs of Inclusion: Making Music Accessible for ALL!
The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) supports the inclusion of all students in general education settings to the maximum extent possible. Many music educators receive little training on adapting music instruction for special learners. Yet, music classes are an environment where students with special needs are commonly mainstreamed with their general education peers. This workshop will include an introduction to special education services and provide tips and tools for music educators to meet the needs of all learners within their general and performance-based classrooms. Come prepared to discuss any specific challenges you are facing!
