Event Description:

This workshop series is designed to empower instructional leaders with the tools, resources, and protocols necessary to help teacher-teams understand and act upon student data.

Data-Based Decision Making for Secondary Educators consists of one full day professional learning experience, and two 1/2 day morning facilitated sessions, with optional time in the afternoon for teams to action plan and network. The specific professional learning outcomes are as follows:

Participants will…

1. Deepen their understanding of Data & Assessment Literacy.

2. Explore the use of problem-solving protocol(s) to analyze student data, identify gaps in student learning, and explore instructional and systemic factors that could be contributing to gaps (why some students are achieving goals and some are not).

3. Examine extent to which effective practices are evident in both core instruction and interventions.

4. Develop action plans to collect additional data, where needed, to verify root causes and to address identified student and staff needs.
