Event Description:

This event is for active Oakland County Public School and PSA's Special Educators only.

Teaching students with Emotional Impairments offers a unique set of challenges, challenges that include distinctive behavioral issues, specific classroom management questions, engaging students in thinking and learning, and the isolation of being the only practitioner within a district while meeting content standards and activating learning. Where do practitioners go to grow their skills and develop depth unique to their populations?

Join us for a time of exploring how to meet the unique learning needs of students with Emotional Impairments. We will discuss teaching strategies to use in your classroom tomorrow that help promote engagement and positive learning. Learn the art of student structure choice to increase student engagement. Practice strategies for engaging in content expectations in math, reading and writing to use with various levels of learners while meeting the motivational needs of students. Explore easy to use resources to use with the heavy demands of working with students with Emotional Impairments.
