Families, let’s celebrate March reading month by connecting as a community of readers. This is a free, virtual book club for families to attend together. PreK through third grade readers will read The Day You Begin by Jacqueline Woodson. Readers grades 4 through 12 will read New Kid by Jerry Craft.
During our time together, we’ll share our joys and wonderings about the books we read. This will be a fun, relaxing evening. Bring your book, some of your favorite parts of the books, and your own yummy treats to our Book Club party!
Whether you’ve read the whole book, parts, or none, join to share the joy in our stories!
Copies of The Day You Begin will be provided for Oakland County PreK to Grade 3 students who are attending that book club. One per household.
Copies of New Kid will be provided for Oakland County students in grades 4 to 12 who attend the book clubs and did not already receive a copy from the African American Read In with Jerry Craft. One per household.
